We can experience grief at the end of a relationship at the loss of a job at the passing of a loved pet or the ultimate loss, that of a loved one. Essential oils can benefit at these times by helping to express emotions, allay fears and support the process of grieving. Frankincense* essential oil has traditionally been used to combat depression. It stimulates the emotion and memory part of brain and helps to slow and deepen the breathing.

Cedarwood essential oil. Due to the high level of sesquiterpenes in this essential oil the master gland, the pineal, is stimulated which can improve thoughts and memory. The woody essential oils that come from trees are also very grounding and cantering.

Bergamot essential oil has flavonoids that are very good relaxants for reducing nervous tension, anxiety and stress. They can also stimulate the activity of dopamine and serotonin which induce feelings of relaxation and calmness.

Cypress essential oil is included for its comforting woody aroma and ability to aid concentration and grounding.

Geranium essential oil is a wonderful stabiliser both physically and emotionally. It has a positive balancing effect on the mind and senses.
